Janet 2.0 out of 5 stars It just chugs and chugs and never gets spinning if it doesn't like the weight of the load or can't seem to balance it. Like a set of sheets.or a few pair of jeans. THAT is irritating. I have had loads I try to drain and spin 3 times and it just won't on some loads. It also takes almost an hour or so to do a that is slow. When it works right, I am happy. I paid top dollar for the set and if I had to do it again I wouldn't. When this conks out, I am going back to a top load. They handle more clothes per load and they are so much nicer to work with. TOO Much money for this kind of performance. Please try again later. Please try again later. Donkey's Breath 3.0 out of 5 stars They were out of order for the majority of the time they were in the house, 20 days or so of function and then weeks of waiting for repair man, parts and repair.

So we were eventually given new machines!! I chose BOSCH, a reliable forward thinking brand, I've had various bosch products before with no issues, ever. Then these beastly machines. We got the washer and the dryer. The dryer is fine, does it's think no issues. I've not seen a top loader for decades before I came out to the usa (from the UK, remember the twin tubs, lol). So of course I wasn't going to get an agitator to ruin my clothes. The BoSCH washer has near on caused mental illness via the sheer agonizing, infuriating consistency of it's inability to balance and spin. There's no spin cycle of itself, so you have to go through a slow and harassing process of pushing buttons, waiting, pausing, manually repositioning, wringing out and starting the spin cycle again and again and oh it's 2-3am and I still have laundry to do. I would be better off with my late Grandmother's old twin tub, agitator included. No other front loader I've ever owned has stunk. If yours does stink I suggest cleaning it. This usually involves the hottest cycle or a clean cycle and a bottle of machine cleaning Clorox. I've done that twice in 4 years due to the filthy stuff that we've put in there. Clothes are always very clean. We use tide free and clear and occasionally fabric softner, while generally just use dryer balls. I llove the features of the dryer that allow you to flat dry delicates and the air dry only (no heat) option, as I'm happy to leave a dryer on when I'm out of the house if there's no heat avoid a common cause of house fire. Please try again later. Please try again later. Gabriel Stern 1.0 out of 5 stars It has no spinning cycle by itself, so you have to go through the whole rigmarole again, wasting water, energy, and time. The linens and towels don't wash as well as in the old one we had, a GE that we discarded after more than a decade of faithful service. This is an expensive machine, that does not perform well, and HAS NO SPINNING CYCLE by itself, as said.

We have the drier too and again is less effective than the one it replaced. Never again buying this Bosch brand. Please try again later. Please try again later. balomest 2.0 out of 5 stars Had to have repair at year 1 due to a baby sock escaping from the washer bag (bag as recommended) and it shut down my machine. After 2 service calls it's not fixed. I'm replacing my washer with a top loader. Nevermind that the machine smells even with the door left wide open after finishing washing all loads. Towels will never smell good again. I think the smell is the case for all front loaders regardless of brand. But this machine cost a fortune and I'm replacing in a little over 2 years. Bosch wasn't helpful at all and in fact service calls took a while to book, and now I know why. I haven't had any problems with my dryer so far (knock on wood). I have a Bosch dishwasher and so far it's okay too. However, I'll never buy another Bosch product. Please try again later. Please try again later. JWR 2.0 out of 5 stars Please try again later. Please try again later. Nataliya I. 2.0 out of 5 stars This machine is a piece of junk. If you need a washer for panties and tees, buy it. You'll be fine. However, if you are planning to wash something heavier than that, skip it. It just won't drain! Please try again later. Please try again later. Mathew C. 1.0 out of 5 stars Washer still functioning after 5 yrs.No one in my area services I bought it from moved. Will be replacing dryer with a Whirlpool. Please try again later. Please try again later. Please try again later. Please try again later. Max K. 2.0 out of 5 stars Spins loudly and now will randomly trip the circuit breaker. I suppose 7 years is about as long as stuff lasts anymorePlease try again later. Please try again later. Willy Rox 1.0 out of 5 stars I'm sure I save alot of detergent, water, energy, but spent the savings on repairs.

If you don't mind your towels coming out like cardboard, and smelly, this IS the perfect set for you. Also, my dryer broke dpwn, just replaced the motor, and the door sensor went. So now I'm replacing the dryer with a Maytag one. I had a Maytag stackable for 18 years, with very little problems. Shoulda stuck with that. The Maytag repair man is lonely, and I hope to keep it that way. Definitely recommend this. Please try again later. Please try again later. Send a Houzz Gift Card.I researched a new house full of appliances months ago and thought I was done.I probably also appreciated the lower cost of the Bosch relative to the Miele. It seems to expensive.) However it does have a pre-soak. The selector knob is a bit flimsy, but the push button selections on the Miele weren't amazing either. I also like that the Bosch will heat the water to the proper temp in every cycle (or so it claims), and I've read that the Miele doesn't in the Normal cycle anymore. Even though I told the GC to reinforce the floor to be able to withstand 1600 rpm (yes, I exaggerated to him, I know!). I think it is a very good washer and for the given price difference it is a better value IMO. I know Miele makes great appliances, but I don't like the americanized version as much as I like the smaller ones. For a warm or hot cotton cycle it initially doesn't need to heat the water if the incoming hot water is at or above the desired temperature, but the heater will engage later to maintain the temperature. You also have the option to do a cold fill and then gradually heat the water during the wash cycle (heavy duty option) which helps remove protein based stains. I had the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer for a few days and it was quite a bit noisier than the Bosch. The Cabrio has a larger capacity, but there still wasn't a difference in drying performance or time. Everything was dry, warm and soft when it came out of the dryer. The jeans were not wrinkled at all.

I did use the dryer balls, so I am not sure if things would have been less soft without them. So far I think I like them. I think it ran right into the tub so I added it while it was filling. I think Chlorox II is very similar to Oxiclean and should be added during the wash phase. I think you could add it to the detergent dispenser, but it would be messy if you use powdered detergent (like I do). I prefer using the powdered Oxiclean or any store brand product like that. Hope this helps. I think this would mean that you should select the bleach option - which would add the bleach as part of an extra rinse which is then added to the cycle. On their website they recommend adding it to the detergent dispenser after adding the detergent. I guess you could add them at the same time. There is also a powdered form of Clorox II and I would mix that with the powdered detergent just like I do with the Oxiclean. They do recommend to put stain remover into the detergent dispenser and the color safe bleach kind of qualifies as that. It will not do much at all during a short, cold water rinse. Since you've had it for a couple of months, how do you like your Bosch. Any second thoughts or regrets. My old Maytags just hang in there. I've had only 2 service calls in all this time. Now I FINALLY have a dryer that's too hot and a washer that's tearing holes in clothes. Big shock, lol, no replacement parts available. My point is that I would hope for the same reliability I now have. Thanks to all who can help. FIRST: LG Tromm Steam which was returned due to horrible odor and whites coming out grey on sanitary cycle. SECOND: I then got the Bosch Nexxt 800 pair on a Thursday and on Friday the wire spring securing the washer seal popped out and the authorized repair service was not available by phone until Monday, then the appt was 9 days later. Retailer said use it anyway; Bosch said not to. Since repair, the door won't close properly.

I'm now searching for replacement because I cannot cope with another lemon. How can one remember what those mean each time -- industry standards would be better -- KISS 7) I washed a mattress pad on regular hot cycle at 1200 RPM spin and it came out dripping; 8) To change certain settings requires holding down one big red button while toggling another.HELP! WHAT WASHER should I get. Whirlpool Duet Steam. A cheap Kenmore? Miele? What this means is the 110V versions cannot heat the water high enough to get whites that white (my true test). So front loaders are proven by European manufacturers, but 110V performance has been proven by USA. Who's got it figured out. After researching to a great extent and physically reviewing all the various units, the Miele brand is far and away the better in terms of unit construction. I did read all the threads here regarding the W4800 and the W4840, and the concerns revolved around the lack of heated Normal cycle versus what a washer is supposed provideAcleaning. I will post a follow-up in a new thread on how matters proceed with the two units, including cleaning. Ours get delivered only in the month of May-2008. In the meantime, if there is any happy customer out there, please do post your experience about Miele. They are scheduled for delivery Jan. 21st. I was very excited until I read ascotgranny's post above. Now I'm second-guessing! I ordered mine on Fri 04, and they'll be here tomorrow or Wed. I ended up with the Duet Steam, due mostly to listening to several women who have had them for a couple of years, with no problems. Not the steam part, of course, but the original Duets. Parts are also much easier to get than for either the Bosch or the Miele. I am in complete agreement about the 220 volt machines. I think Europeans MUST do that better than 110 volt. What really ticks me off is that I am already wired for 220, and can't get a 220 machine. I'll let you know if I like these, or just send them back for the Miele.

Just an aside; I'm surprised that Miele is the only company that puts the dryer on the left. I'm left handed, so I'll have to relearn THAT habit! I was advised yesterday that it is expected to be delivered in early Feb. Capital and my retailer are both looking into this matter with Almo, our area distributor, to see what can be done. Yes, someone has to return to connect it, but at least you can have the work completed. Call the factory to ensure that nothing has changed in the cut sheet (model revision, and any other number of small changes that can occur). Good Luck with that! BTW. I did not order the pedestals for my Duet Steamers. However, I find no difference between the bending I did for my ancient dryer and the bending I'm doing with the new machines. Thus far, it is not a problem. I do love the Duets and have had no problems in the 10 loads I have run! The 48XX is at a 10 degree tilt or something like that. I can't figure that out. The machine is larger and should be easier to get things in and out why tilt the drum slightly.unless Miele just thought that was what folks in the USA would want. I dunno. Ended up with the Duet aspen greens (they work OK) but another poster said all of us will be lucky if we get 7 years out of our machines no matter what brand we have. I believe that. We are still awaiting the arrival of our Miele W4840 and T9820 (it has been almost three weeks now). I'll post our findings when they are installed. Very likely, because EVERY rinse is WARM. I just learned this today! To make sure the hoses weren't reversed, I washed a load on HOT regular wash, and it finished with the items the same temp as the cold wash finished! I'm going to research other washers and see if I can still get mine replaced due to these disappointments. This machine will run fine for a bunch of loads and will suddenly tell me the wash is done with NO error message, and the wash will be sopping wet.

This is getting ridiculous, so I've contacted my retailer and have requested this machine be returned as defective and plan to find something else out there! German excellence! My experience has been excellent with these machines. Aren't then Bosch FL clothes washing machines made in Bulgaria. I'm looking to install two sets of these (upstairs and downstairs). I looked at the 4840 set, but needed the space saving of the Miele middle-sized units, which I understand are the largest ones offered in Europe. Most of us tend to glance through the manual when we first get our spanking new machine and experiment a little with the settings, then end up picking a couple of settings to stick with forevermore. All the different buttons, symbols and timings might seem daunting, but it’s worthwhile to know how to make the most out of your washer dryer to save you time, energy, money and also, wouldn't you want to take the best care of your clothes? You can also use this function to wash out stains, just be sure to first try removing the stain while it’s fresh by dabbing it with a bit of soap water before popping it in the wash. It pretty much guarantees that you’ll never have to wash any laundry by hand ever again. To keep things simple, here are 5 easy to remember categories: Cottons: Standard washing programme for textiles made of cotton or linen Easy-Care: For textiles made of synthetic materials or blended fabrics Mixed Load: For washing natural and synthetic textiles together in a single load HygieneCare: Pretreat dry laundry by hot air followed by a low temperature washing cycle to achieve the most hygienic wash results for non-delicate fabrics. Drum Clean: To maintain the hygiene of the washer drum and remove residual lint. Materials such as wool or silk may be on the no-no list, but it's good to check the labels and make a mental note of items that can't go in the dryer.

There are two different types of drying programmes - Gentle and Intensive - so pick the one that suits your needs. Regular cotton items or lighter clothing would be more appropriate for a Gentle Dry, while towels and sheets would be better suited for Intensive Dry. Now that you know all that your washer dryer can do, I bet you can’t wait to try out a new setting with your next load of laundry! As a general rule of thumb, always follow the temperature and wash programme selection instructions on the care label to keep your clothes in tiptop condition. A dishwasher washes dishes and utensils both quickly and precisely, giving you the luxury of relaxing at home without having to worry about washing up after your meals. The best way to reduce water and energy usage is to simply learn how to operate home appliances such as your washing machine in a resource-efficient way. Here are 4 easy steps to get you started. But is there any way to get it to drain manually now so I can get the clothes out, and get the door open, before I start looking at the various reasons it might be blocked. I’m assuming it’s a bad idea (or just un-necessary) to start working on it with door locked and full of water and clothes. Do I then remove the lower front panel to get in a check the coin trap, the drain pump, etc.? Careful so, there is going to be a big watery mess coming at you. Get a shopvac and lots of towels ready; there will also be quite a stink coming from the drain;-). You’ll also find a green marked door latch cord that you can pull to release the front door. You have not told us what is going on with your washer and what you have tried. I would always start by running the diagnostic program. Hold times are long. A noisy spin cycle isn't the end of the world. Don't let a broken water inlet valve break your spirit. And don't be afraid of those error codes you don't understand.
